Sunderland officially announced the signing of defender Nordi Mukiele from Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday. The 27-year-old player signed a four-year contract. Mukiele joined the team after a temporary transfer to Bayer Leverkusen, where he played alongside Granit Xhaka, who also moved to Sunderland in this transfer window.

The defender, who previously played for Montpellier and Leipzig, joined PSG in 2022. In the squad of the Parisian team, he won titles in Ligue 1 in 2023 and 2024. Sunderland recently ascended to the Premier League and won their first match of the season with a score of 3-0 against West Ham.
