On the night of August 16 to 17, Ukrainian forces dealt a strike on a Russian military convoy on the highway Rylsk-Khmutovka in the Kursk region of Russia. As a result of this, General-Lieutenant Esedullov Abachev was seriously injured and incapacitated.

According to information from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the injured general was transported by military transport to the Central Clinical Hospital named after Vishnevsky in Moscow, where he was amputated.

This incident occurred against the backdrop of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, where Ukrainian forces continue to carry out attacks on enemy military facilities.
