The Exhibition of Robots in Beijing Highlighted the Need for Human Assistance

  • In the games, robots competed from 16 countries around the world.
  • Humanoid robots required human assistance during the competition.
  • Viewers actively supported the robots, treating them like real athletes.

The Third World Games of Humanoid Robots concluded in Beijing, lasting three days. At the competitions held at the National Speed Skating Stadium, more than 500 humanoid robots from 280 teams across 16 countries participated, including the USA, Germany, and Japan.

The robots competed in various sports categories, such as football, running, and boxing. However, during their games, many often fell, broke, and required human assistance to get back on their feet. Many robots were heavily dependent on their operators, who provided management, lifted them, or repaired them.

Although the robots demonstrated impressive movements, some of them stumbled, and human intervention was always nearby. One of the robots even managed to lift two people, one of whom was a disabled athlete, who faced technological limitations.

Regardless of this, viewers actively supported the participants, cheering for each successful hit or missed goal, which testified to their interest in the competitions. Meanwhile, it is expected that robots based on artificial intelligence will increasingly be utilized in industrial conditions.
