The incident occurred in the 13th minute when Antwi-Adjei stopped the game to talk to the referee. The game was stopped for nearly five minutes, during which the referees and captains of both teams discussed the situation. The announcer at the stadium appealed to the fans with a request to refrain from racist expressions.

After this, when Antwi-Adjei received the ball, he was whistled at. Lokomotiv's representative Karsten Masuhr stated that they did not hear any remarks from the personnel, and that there was also a worker in a wheelchair who did not record any remarks.
