President Donald Trump shared on his social media page a letter addressed to Russian President Vladimir Putin during the summit in Alianza, which took place on Friday.
In the letter, Melania Trump appeals to Putin, urging him to protect children and future generations. She emphasizes that all children, regardless of their background, deserve the same dreams of love, opportunity, and safety.
"Every generation begins its life with purity and innocence, which transcends geography, culture, and ideology," she writes. The letter concludes with a call to action: "You, Mr. Putin, have the power to realize this vision for one generation to come. The time is now."
Trump shared the letter following media criticism that, in his view, unfairly portrayed his actions at the summit. He expressed concern about how the media perceives his efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine.
