In her interview for Saga Magazine, she stated: "You cannot make Bond a woman. It simply doesn't work. James Bond must be James Bond, otherwise, it becomes something else entirely."

It is worth noting that Mirren is currently starring in the film Thursday Murder Club alongside former Bond Pierce Brosnan, who also supports the notion that the next Bond must be a man. He expressed his enthusiasm for the new actor taking on the role, stating that they are looking for a fresh approach to the character.
