The teams tied 17-17 in the Superdome earlier that day. Sanders, a Super Bowl champion, played two seasons with the Saints, where he appeared in 27 games, after which he was traded to the Jaguars through a system change.

Fortner, a 27-year-old lineman, was selected by the Jaguars in the third round of the 2022 draft. He started all games of the regular season in the first two seasons, but last year lost his place in the main squad.
