Iga Swiatek secured victory over Elena Rybakina with a score of 7-5 6-3 in the semifinals of the Cincinnati Open, marking her first final in this tournament. In the previous two years, she had been stopped in the semifinals. Swiatek won 10 of the last 13 games, showcasing exceptional play in the second half of the match.

In the other semifinal, Jasmine Paolini defeated Russian tennis player Veronika Kudermetova with a score of 6-3 6-7(2) 6-3. The match lasted 2 hours and 19 minutes and marked Paolini's ninth final in her career, her third at WTA 1000 tournaments following successes in Dubai and Rome this year.

Swiatek, the third seed, noted that the match was challenging, but her game improved, and she was satisfied with her performance. Paolini, who recently overcame a crisis, demonstrated resilience, bouncing back after dropping the second set in the semifinals.

The final between Swiatek and Paolini will take place this weekend. This matchup will be a repeat of the Roland Garros 2024 final, where Swiatek emerged victorious.
