Ukrainian Soldiers Raise National Flags in Liberated Territories
- Flags are raised in the villages of the Kursk region in honor of Flag Day.

On August 23, on Flag Day of Ukraine, soldiers raised blue and yellow flags in several populated points, including in the villages of Hornal and Huyev on the territory of the Kursk region of Russia, which historically belong to the Ukrainian Slobozhanshchyna. This information was disseminated by the battalion of unmanned systems RUGBY TEAM.
According to the soldiers, flags are a symbol of resilience and a reminder to the enemy that Ukraine always remembers and reclaims its own. At the time of publication, Ukrainian forces have also restored control over the village of Zelenyi Hai in the Donetsk region, where the Ukrainian flag has been raised again.
Soldiers noted that the current situation at the front remains tense, with active attempts by Russian forces to regain control over the lost territories. During August 2024, Ukrainian forces captured nearly 100 populated points in the Kursk region, during which Russian troops suffered significant losses.
It is reminded that Flag Day in Ukraine is celebrated on August 23, according to the presidential decree from 2004.
