In the match of the second round of La Liga, Atletico Madrid failed to secure a win against the newcomer Elche, finishing the game with a 1:1 draw at the Metropolitano Stadium.

Already in the eighth minute of the match, Norwegian Alexander Sorloth opened the scoring, finishing off an attack after a pass from David Hanck. However, Atletico could not manage to score again, and in the next attack, Elche equalized the score thanks to a goal from Rafa Mir.

Atletico, despite controlling the match and having numerous attacks, could not find a way to the goal of the substitute goalkeeper. The players of Elche showed resilience in defense and deservedly earned a draw.

This result leaves Atletico in 13th place in the table, with only one point after two rounds.
