Bus with youth football team involved in accident

In Economy Borough, Pennsylvania — A bus transporting a youth football team was involved in an accident on Saturday, September 23, 2025, north of Pittsburgh. As a result of the accident, 21 out of 28 individuals on board the bus were taken to the hospital.

On the bus were 25 students from Aliquippa Junior High and their coaches, who were heading to a game in Gibsonia, located approximately 32 km north of Pittsburgh.

The chief of Economy Borough police, Michael O'Brien, reported that there is no information about the condition of the hospitalized individuals. He noted that during the accident the bus rolled onto its side, but then returned to an upright position while the students were evacuating from it.

O'Brien also added that the site of the accident is hazardous, as "this is a dangerous turn." An investigation is underway to determine what caused the accident.

The football team's Facebook page reports that every player is being evaluated and asks for "prayers for every player or trainer who was injured this morning."
