- Sinner and Swiatek are the favorites for the 2025 US Open.
- Sinner is returning after a virus prior to the tournament.
- Swiatek demonstrated in winning Wimbledon.
According to the latest data, Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek have become the favorites for this year's US Open, which starts this Sunday. Sinner, a 24-year-old player from Italy, is the leader among men with odds of +116, while his main rival, Carlos Alcaraz, has odds of +152. Among women, Swiatek, who holds the second position in the world ranking, is the clear favorite with odds of +250, ahead of the defending Arina Sabalenka (+295), the US Open champion.
Sinner has encountered health issues, having recently contracted a virus that forced him to withdraw from the Cincinnati Open final. Nevertheless, he is hopeful of being ready for the start of the tournament, stating that he feels physically well.
Swiatek, who won Wimbledon, demonstrated in winning the Cincinnati Open that she is in top form. She did not drop a single set during her matches in Ohio, which gives her additional confidence heading into the US Open.
Among other competitors in the women's category, Koko Gauff and Elena Rybakina share third place with odds of +850. Mira Andreyeva, a young Russian tennis player, has also made the list, occupying fifth place with odds of +975.
Sabalenka, who suffered a disappointing loss at Wimbledon, needs to perform well at the Grand Slam, especially since this year she has already reached three major finals. Her nerves may affect her results, but she can also bounce back to claim victory, should she gather herself.
