At the opening of the US Open 2025, attention is drawn to the young tennis players who have already showcased themselves on the world stage. Among them Mira Andreeva, a Russian tennis player, who is only 18 years old. She has already reached the semifinals at the Grand Slam tournaments and is ranked 5th in the standings.

Another young talent is Joao Fonseca, a Brazilian who celebrated his 19th birthday last week. He became the youngest player since 2011 to reach the third round of Wimbledon. Learner Tien, a 19-year-old tennis player from California, has already defeated four top-10 superstars and will meet Novak Djokovic this Sunday.

Canadian Viki Mboko, also 18 years old, recently won a title on hard courts in Toronto, becoming the second youngest woman to defeat four champions of the Grand Slam in a single tournament.

Andreeva, Fonseca, Tien, and Mboko are part of a group of young tennis players who may replicate the achievements of stars like Coco Gauff, who won the US Open in 2023, and Emma Raducanu, who became champion in 2021.

Experts believe that Fonseca has every chance of becoming a contender for the Grand Slam titles in the coming years, as he possesses unique skills. Gauff believes that Mboko has a bright future in tennis.

Andreeva, who became the youngest woman in the top 5 during Maria Sharapova's time, aims to improve her results on her own terms.

Mboko, who was ranked 350th in early 2024, has risen to 24th, thanks to receiving a seed at the US Open. She competes against the reigning champion of the Grand Slam tournaments Barbora Krejcikova.

Among other young talents at the US Open, it is also worth mentioning Iva Jovic, who has already won matches in three out of four Grand Slam tournaments.
