Evacuation of over 7000 people from areas with limited possibilities continues in Ukraine

  • More than 7000 people have been evacuated from areas with limited possibilities.
  • Over 230,000 people from unsafe areas need evacuation.
  • Key hubs for evacuation are Pavlohrad and Lozova.

This is reported by Interfax Ukraine, RBC Ukraine.

The head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Vadym Filashkin, reported about the evacuation of more than seven thousand residents of the Donetsk region with limited possibilities to other safer regions, where assistance and support are provided.

During this week, four evacuation flights were carried out: residents of the Pokrovsk community are already staying in Lviv region; people from Dobropillya and Bilozersk communities are in Zhytomyr region; 20 individuals with limited possibilities received assistance in Kyiv region; another 52 individuals are in geriatric facilities in Kyiv region, where they receive constant care.

According to information from the Ministry of Community Development and Territories of Ukraine, in Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions, over 230,000 people require evacuation, including about 17,000 children. Since June 1 to September 22, more than 64,000 people have already been evacuated.

A key hub for evacuation is a transit point in Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region. Currently, a new point is operating in Lozova, Kharkiv region, and it is also planned to open another in Voloske, Dnipropetrovsk region.

Minister of Community Development Oleksii Kuleba stated that each region that sends evacuees to safe zones has a partner region that accepts them. Rivne, Kirovohrad, and Kyiv regions are already accepting evacuees, while Vinnytsia and Poltava regions are preparing to do so if needed.

Since September 15, evacuation points continue to operate; during this time, over 430 individuals have been evacuated to Kyiv, Lviv, and Rivne. Ukrzaliznytsia plans to expand the routes of evacuation points.

The evacuation process continues against the backdrop of the ongoing Russian aggression, regular shelling, and active combat operations, which forces many residents from combat zones to leave their homes.
