The Kilauea volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii began erupting new lava around 14:04 local time on September 22, according to the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory.
This marks the 31st eruption since the start of the last eruption, which began in December 2024. The volcano continues to show activity, erupting lava up to 30 meters into the atmosphere.
The first lava output occurred early, but already the fountain of lava began shortly after the initial time. The eruption is contained only within the crater, and no buildings are found under threat.
Some lucky residents and tourists may observe this event in the National Park of Hawaii volcanoes, while many others can watch the livestreams on the Internet, which are conducted by three cameras set up by the Geological Service of the U.S.
