Report on 143 combat clashes and losses of the enemy

• Over the past day, 143 combat clashes have been recorded at the front

On August 22, 143 combat clashes between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Russian troops were recorded. This was reported in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a report as of 8:00 AM on August 23.

During the day, the enemy conducted one rocket strike and 95 airstrikes, using one rocket and dropping 174 guided bombs. Overall, the enemy carried out 5,197 shellings, of which 73 were with reactive systems of multiple rocket launchers, and involved 5,417 unmanned aerial vehicles.

Russian troops inflicted airstrikes on civilian areas: Znob-Novhorodske, Stara Huta in Sumy region; Kramatorsk, Yasna Polyana, Shabelivka, Kostiantynivka, Svitlyi in Donetsk region; Vyshneve in Dnipropetrovsk region; Stepnohirsk, Uspenivka in Zaporizhzhia region; Kherson, Kozatske in Kherson region.

In the Slobozhansky and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian defenders repelled all seven enemy attacks. At the same time, the enemy conducted 14 airstrikes, using 28 guided bombs, and 240 shellings, two of which were with the RSZV.

In the southern Slobozhansky sector, the enemy attempted several times to break through the defense line in the areas of Vovchansk, Ambarne and Kolodyazne. In the Kupiansk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled attacks in the areas of Kindrashivka, Myrnoye, Stepovaya Novoselivka and Zahryzovoe.

In the Lyman sector, Russian troops conducted 25 attacks, trying to advance in the areas of Hrekivka, Zelenaya Dolina, Kolodyaziv, Torskoye and in the direction of Yamplia and Sibrivka. In the Siversky sector, four attempts to advance were recorded in the areas of Hryhorivka, Vyimka and Pereyzne.

According to the data from the General Staff, the total losses of the Russian troops since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, as of August 23, amount to approximately 1,075,160 soldiers, of which 840 were killed over the past day.

During the day, the enemy also recorded losses: 840 servicemen and 118 units of equipment. In particular, five tanks were destroyed, four armored fighting vehicles, 23 artillery systems and 86 units of automotive equipment.
