On Saturday, August 23, 2025, Marc Marquez of the Ducati team claimed pole position at the Grand Prix of Hungary, achieving the top spot in qualifying. This marks the 74th instance in his career where he starts from pole position in MotoGP races. The second and third places in qualifying were Italian Marco Bezzecchi and Fabio Di Giannantonio.

Fabio Quartararo, who starts from sixth place, received a penalty in the form of a "long lap" due to an incident at the first corner of the race. He collided with Enea Bastianini, which led to a crash, and now faces the challenge of executing the penalty during the race on Sunday. Quartararo mentioned that his maneuver was triggered by problems with the handling due to the accumulation of dust on the track.

In the sprint that took place on the same day, Marquez reaffirmed his status as a leader, winning the race with a lead of 2.095 seconds over Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli. Unfortunately, Quartararo and his teammate Johann Zarco were involved in a crash, which resulted in a red flag that halted the race for both.

Currently, Zarco, who also faced difficulties on the track, struggled with Bastianini in the second part of the sprint, which led to serious problems for his team.

Tomorrow, attention will focus on the race, where Marquez and other riders will try to realize their potential on the Balaton track.
