Record Attendance Set for NWSL Matches at Oracle Park

San Francisco — The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) match between Bay FC and Washington Spirit, held at Oracle Park, gathered a record number of spectators — 40,091. This is the largest attendance for women's professional sports in the USA.

The previous record was set when 35,038 spectators watched Bay FC play against Chicago Stars at Wrigley Field in June 2024.

The game, dubbed "Show at Oracle Park," concluded with Washington Spirit winning 3-2. Bay FC, which usually plays its matches at PayPal Park in San Jose, decided to host this historic game at the San Francisco Giants stadium.

Spirit's coach Adrian Gonzalez noted that the atmosphere at the match was wonderful, and players and fans had a unique experience. Bay FC's coach Albertin Montoya expressed that the team deserved such support from the fans.

This event became historic not only for NWSL but for all women's professional sports in the USA, as the league now has 48 of the 50 highest-attended matches in women's sports history in the country.

Earlier, Bay FC set a record attendance at its debut match in NWSL, when 18,000 people attended the game in February 2024.
