Gaza, August 24, 2025 — A humanitarian crisis continues in Gaza due to hunger and military actions. According to the UN, nearly 500,000 people are suffering from hunger in Gaza, particularly in Gaza City and surrounding areas. Aid is coming in, but the insufficient amount is causing serious food security problems.
Doctors report an increase in cases of severe malnutrition, especially among children. According to the organization MedGlobal, one in six children aged five and under is suffering from acute malnutrition. Physicians note that many patients show signs of hunger, including significant loss of body mass.
Military actions have resulted in new civilian casualties. On Saturday, as a result of Israeli airstrikes, at least 33 Palestinians were killed, including women and children who were sheltering in the UN compound in Khan Younis.
As of August 24, the UN warned that without urgent humanitarian assistance, hunger could spread to other areas of Gaza. Local residents are facing tremendous difficulties in accessing food, while prices for basic products remain extremely high.
According to reports, many people are facing difficulties in accessing food supplies due to military blockades and constant obstacles. The lack of assistance and restrictions on the provision of food from Israel significantly worsen the situation.
