On August 24, Ukraine celebrates the 34th anniversary of its independence. President Volodymyr Zelenskyi recorded a video message to Ukrainians for this holiday.

Quote: "We will build Ukraine, which will be strong enough to live in safety and peace. So that here, on our Independence Square, under our flags, on our land, our children and grandchildren celebrate Independence Day. In peace. In prosperity. With confidence in the future. With gratitude to all who defended Ukraine in this war for Independence."

This year, the celebration takes place under the conditions of a full-scale war, unleashed by Russia against the Ukrainian people. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba stated that Ukraine's independence is the foundation of security for Europe and future freedom in the world.

General Major Oleksandr Syrskiy emphasized that Ukrainians are fighting for freedom and independence, continuing the legacy of the heroes of the past. "Real independence is impossible without a strong and modern army," he noted.

It is reminded that the day before the holiday, on August 23, Ukraine began celebrating State Flag Day.
