Diana Shnaider continued her impressive series of victories, winning the final of the WTA 500 tournament in Monterrey, defeating compatriot Ekaterina Alexandrova with a score of 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. The final took place on Saturday, August 24, 2025.

Shnaider, who occupies the 12th place in the world ranking, easily won the first set but faced difficulties in the second. Alexandrova managed to win a crucial point on her serve, allowing her to take the set. However, in the third set, Shnaider immediately regained the lead, breaking at the start.

This victory became the fifth for Shnaider on the WTA tour, following triumphs in Gonkong, Budapest, Bad Homburg, and Hua Hin last year. She also matched her record in personal meetings with Alexandrova.

Both tennis players will not have much time to rest, as they are already preparing to fly to New York to participate in the US Open, which starts on Sunday. Shnaider will face Laura Siegemund from Germany, while Alexandrova will meet Latvian tennis player Anastasija Sevastova.
