Norway is funding Patriot systems for Ukraine for 700 million

Norway, together with Germany, is supplying Ukraine with Patriot systems and radar complexes to protect civilian populations and military infrastructure from Russian attacks. Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre stated that his country is providing nearly 7 billion Norwegian crowns (approximately 695.7 million dollars) for enhancing Ukraine's air defense.

Norway and Germany will finance two Patriot systems with missiles. In addition, Oslo is participating in the acquisition of radar systems from the German manufacturer Hensoldt and Patriot systems from Kongsberg. Norway's Defense Minister Tore O. Sandvik emphasized the importance of air defense for the protection of both civilian and military facilities.

Earlier, on September 1, Germany announced the transfer of two Patriot systems to Ukraine. The first phase of the transfer includes the delivery of launch installations, while additional components of the system will be transferred in the following 2-3 months.

US President Donald Trump announced the transfer of Patriot systems to Ukraine at the expense of NATO allies. Germany confirmed its readiness to transfer two systems, but only on the condition of a swift replacement of the equipment.
