Chelsea sells Chukwueze and Anselmo to Borussia Dortmund

• Chelsea receives 24 million pounds for Chukwueze
• Anselmo transitions to the loan without the option to buy

Borussia Dortmund is preparing to finalize the agreement for signing Chelsea players Karni Chukwueze and Anselmo. Chukwueze, 21 years old, plans to move to the German club on a permanent basis for approximately 24 million pounds sterling, while Anselmo, 20 years old, is heading to Dortmund on a seasonal loan without the option to buy.

The players received permission to travel to Germany to complete the deal. Chukwueze has already played for Borussia in the second half of the 2024-25 season on loan, having played all matches with ten.

During this time, as Chukwueze increases his value in the market, Anselmo, who moved to Chelsea from Boki Khunior, requires playing practice to develop in the competitive environment for a place in the main squad.

This transfer allows Chelsea to achieve a positive balance with the incoming transfers, as the club has already earned 273.4 million pounds from the sale of players this summer. This will largely offset the expenses for new transfers, which amount to 277 million pounds.

Chelsea is hoping to sign a few more players before the closure of the transfer window, including forward Alekhandro Garnacho and midfielder Xavi Simons.
