Russian Forces Attack Ukrainian Objects During the War

On August 24, 2025, during the celebrations of Ukraine's Independence Day, Russia accused Ukraine of attacking facilities that led to fires at critical objects. According to information from the Russian Ministry of Defense, on that day about 95 Ukrainian drones were intercepted in various regions of Russia.
In particular, a drone that was lost near the Kursk nuclear power plant caused a transformer to explode, which resulted in a 50% reduction in the power of the third reactor. According to reports, the radiation level remained normal and the population was not affected.
Near the port of Ust-Luga in the Leningrad region of Russia, there was also a drone attack that sparked a fire at the terminal of the Novatek company. The fire spread through the drone's impact. Local authorities confirmed that there were no casualties, and reserves of flammable materials were not affected.
In addition, drones attacked a commercial facility in the city of Syzran in the Samara region, which led to the injury of a child. Earlier this month, Ukrainian military forces announced strikes on a refinery in Syzran, which resulted in the suspension of production.
Also, in connection with the attacks, several airports in Russia, including Pulkovo, suspended operations, which caused the delay of more than 60 flights.
