Lukashenko Advocates for a Peaceful Sky for Ukraine on Independence Day

  • Lukashenko expressed his desire for peace for Ukraine.
  • Belarus remains open to Ukrainians, regardless of external influences.
  • Russian troops and equipment are stationed in Belarus.

This was reported by RBC Ukraine, Ukrayinska Pravda.

The self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, made a statement on Ukraine's Independence Day, wishing Ukrainians a "peaceful sky." He emphasized that "living in harmony and peace has always been the recognition of the Belarusian and Ukrainian peoples."

Lukashenko added that the close ties formed are unbreakable blood connections between the nations, strengthened by a shared historical legacy, Christian values, and broad friendship.

He noted that Belarus will remain open to Ukrainians, regardless of external influences. Lukashenko concluded in a pragmatic manner, referring to "mutually beneficial cooperation and constructive dialogue" with neighboring countries.

The statement suggested that Ukrainians find their own response to current challenges, as well as peace, solidarity, and genuine independent development for a multi-national region.

Belarus Supports Russia

It should be noted that since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, Belarus has been aiding the Russian regime. Russian troops, aviation, and other equipment are stationed on the territory of Belarus.

Lukashenko also stated about the possible deployment of Russian nuclear weapons and Iskander missiles on Belarusian territory.

It is known that Russia and Belarus will conduct military exercises "West-2025," which will take place from September 12 to 16, 2025. Ukrainian border guards reported on the arrival of dozens of Russian military personnel to Belarus for participation in these exercises.
