Zelenskyi Confers Military Ranks on Ukrainian Soldiers and Officials

  • Zelenskyi conferred new military ranks on a number of officials.
  • General Lieutenant Andrii Hnatov was appointed chief of the General Staff.
  • Dozens of military personnel and law enforcement officers were also awarded.

This was reported by Ukrayinska Pravda, RBC Ukraine.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyi conferred new military ranks to the leaders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. General Lieutenant Andrii Hnatov was appointed chief of the General Staff.

In addition, the following new ranks were awarded:

  • Brigadier General Andrii Tkachenko, deputy commander of the Air Assault Forces;
  • Brigadier General Oleh Luhovskyi, first deputy head of the Foreign Intelligence Service;
  • Brigadier General Yevhen Kurash, commander of the 16th Army Corps;
  • Brigadier General Valerii Kurach, commander of the 21st Army Corps;
  • Brigadier General Serhii Holubtsov, deputy commander of the Ground Forces;
  • Brigadier General Oleksandr Ptytsia, head of the Eastern Regional Administration of the State Border Service;
  • Brigadier General Oleksii Osypenko, deputy commander of the National Guard;
  • Brigadier General Oleh Voievodyn, first deputy head of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions;
  • Major General Artem Astakhov, head of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service for extraordinary situations in Kharkiv region;
  • Police Colonel Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Main Department of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region.

The president also signed dozens of decrees that include awards, among them the title of Hero of Ukraine.
