Protests took place in many cities, including Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, where organizers stated that nearly 300,000 people participated in actions across the country.

In Sydney, according to organizers' estimates, about 100,000 people gathered, while police estimated the number of participants at 10,000. In Melbourne, the action took place near the State Library of Victoria, where protesters called for sanctions against Israel.

Organizer Nur Salman noted that Australia's plans to recognize Palestinian statehood may be accompanied by stricter sanctions against Israel. In Adelaide, about 5,000 people gathered at Victoria Square, calling for the freedom of Palestine.

Protests were held in response to reports about the critical humanitarian situation in Gaza, where, according to reports, over 500,000 people are facing catastrophic hunger. Since the beginning of the war on July 7, 2023, at least 62,263 Palestinians have been killed, according to the Ministry of Health of Gaza.
