Jonathan Rowe, the winner of the U21 European Championship, signed a contract with the Italian club Bologna after the incident with his teammate in Marseille, Adrien Rabiot.
The 22-year-old footballer signed a four-year agreement, and the total transfer fee amounts to 19.5 million euros (16.8 million pounds sterling). Rowe and Rabiot were included in the transfer list after their incident following Marseille's defeat to Rennes in the first match of Ligue 1 on September 15.
Marseille's head coach Roberto De Zerbi described the incident as "something that recalls a fight in English football." He noted that no one had seen anything similar in football before.
Rowe made his debut for the England U21 team in red, helping his team win the title, scoring a goal in the final against Germany. He joined Marseille from Norwich in September 2024 starting on a permanent basis, having played 31 matches and scored three goals.
Bologna started their new season in Serie A with a victory of 1-0 against Roma.
