On August 24, 2025, the Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully conducted a counterattack in the Donetsk region, resulting in the liberation of the villages of Mykhailivka, Zelenyi Hai, and Volodymyrivka from Russian troops. This information was confirmed by the commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskiy, who was present in the Pokrovsk sector.
He noted that the situation at the front is complex, as the enemy has concentrated its main forces in this sector. However, Ukrainian forces have managed to hold their positions and organize support for combat operations, including securing additional armored vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles, and electronic warfare systems.
Oleksandr Syrskiy also awarded distinguished military personnel for their resilience and bravery. He spoke with the fighters who have been defending Pokrovsk for a long time and received updates from the commanders of the units and brigades regarding the operational situation.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian forces had pushed back Russian units near Dobropillya, where the threat was neutralized.
