Zelensky confirmed that Ukraine conducts strikes on Russia

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the Armed Forces conduct strikes on the territory of Russia, using their own weapons. He emphasized that Ukraine does not need the USA's consent to carry out these operations.

Zelensky clarified that Ukraine has long stopped coordinating its strikes on Russian targets with the USA. Kyiv relies on its own means of weaponry, and any restrictions from Washington do not affect these actions.

"We use our own weapons for strikes on Russia. Recently, we have not discussed this issue with the USA. When signals were given regarding our contracts for energy infrastructure, but today we are not mentioning this," he said, responding to a question about strikes in the center of Russia.

The president's comments came after the ZMI reported that the Pentagon had banned Ukraine from using long-range missiles against Russian targets for several months. According to the Wall Street Journal, Ukraine sought to use ATACMS against targets in Russia at least once but was denied.

The Pentagon refrained from granting permission as the White House simultaneously sought to persuade Moscow to enter peace negotiations.
