On September 24, 2025, in the second stage of the Vuelta, which takes place in Italy, Jonas Vingegaard secured the victory. The stage lasted 157 km from Albi to Limone-Piemonte. In difficult conditions, which included rain, Vingegaard overtook Italian Giulio Ciccone at the finish, marking his 39th career victory.
This stage was significant for many riders, including Jasper Philipsen, who wore the red jersey up to this point but failed to maintain his lead and lost his position during the final climb. David Gaudu from Groupama-FDJ took third place in the climb.
The next stage of the Vuelta is scheduled for tomorrow, September 25, with a route from San-Maurizio-Canavese to Cherasco, which will be the shortest stage – 137 km.
