Kansas City Chiefs welcome Derrick Nnadi back from Jets

  • Derrick Nnadi has returned to the Chiefs after a year with the Jets.
  • Chiefs strengthened their defensive tackle position by signing the agreement.
  • The team exchanged draft terms for Nnadi for the 2027 season.

Kansas City Chiefs signed an agreement with New York Jets, bringing back defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi. The 29-year-old player has played his first seven seasons with the Chiefs, after which he signed a one-year contract with the Jets in March.

According to the information from the source, the Chiefs will receive Nnadi in exchange for the sixth and seventh rounds of the 2027 draft. This agreement was first reported by ESPN.

Nnadi, who has experience playing in 115 regular seasons, became a necessary addition for the Chiefs, especially since the team has a limited supply of defensive tackles, aside from star Chris Jones.

During his time with the Jets, Nnadi did not manage to demonstrate bright results in training camp and, as expected, could be released due to new additions to the defensive position, including Garrison Phillips from Minnesota.

In the previous season, Nnadi helped the Chiefs win three Super Bowls and has in his record five tackles, 233 tackles, and one interception in the playoffs.
