US Vice President J. D. Vance stated that American troops will not be deployed on the territory of Ukraine as part of security guarantees. He mentioned this in an interview on the program Meet the Press.
Vance emphasized that President Donald Trump clearly stated that there will be "no boots on the ground" in Ukraine. However, the USA will continue to actively work on ensuring Ukraine's necessary security guarantees for the end of the war.
He also noted that the issue of security guarantees will not be discussed until the war is concluded. According to Vance, Russia must be involved in negotiations to end the conflict, but this does not mean that Russian troops will be stationed in Ukraine.
Earlier, the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow supports the provision of security guarantees to Ukraine. He also indicated the necessity of participation by permanent members of the UN Security Council, including Russia and China, in this process.
Kyiv has categorically rejected Moscow's conditions, indicating their unacceptable nature. Moreover, both the White House and the European Union have also expressed criticism regarding the Russian proposals, emphasizing the importance of participation by European countries in the security matters of Ukraine.
