Lavrov explains his position regarding the attack on the factory in Ukraine

  • Lavrov denies a deliberate attack on the Flex factory in Ukraine.
  • Russia accuses Ukraine of attacks on civilian objects.
  • After the attack on the factory, 23 people were injured, 11 of them hospitalized.

This is reported by RBC Ukraine, Ukrayinska Pravda.

The Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov commented in an NBC interview on the attack that occurred at the factory, which belongs to the American company Flex in Mukachevo. He denied that Russia deliberately attacked civilian objects, stating that "he did not know about this incident."

In response to a journalist's question about the factory not being a military facility, Lavrov did not acknowledge responsibility. He asserted that Russia does not target objects that are not related to military capabilities of Ukraine. However, his words testified that the attack was deliberate.

Lavrov also attempted to accuse Ukraine of attacks on civilian targets, claiming that Russia only responds to threats. He mentioned provocations that the Kremlin allegedly intended to attribute to Ukraine, labeling them as their own territories.

On the night of August 21, two Russian missiles struck Mukachevo, destroying the Flex factory, which is the largest employer in the area. As a result of the attack, 23 people were injured, 11 of whom were hospitalized.

Lavrov also noted that the presence of American capital in the infrastructure does not deter Russia from attacks. He emphasized that if the Kremlin decides to strike an object, it will be done, although in response to a question about the purposefulness of the attack, he began to deny his statements.
