Slot emphasized that he believes Haug is a good person, but the sympathy cannot outweigh business interests, especially since Isak is not the only talented forward available for Newcastle.

Isak is expected to miss his first home match of the season against Liverpool as Newcastle attempts to force the club to agree to a record-breaking transfer fee of 110 million pounds. Liverpool has already signed his potential replacement, Ugo Ekitike, which has intensified the tension in relations between the clubs.
