The Dallas Mavericks activated safety Trevon Diggs, allowing him to return to the field earlier in the season. Diggs, who sustained a knee injury, underwent medical treatment and is now preparing for his return to game form.

Additionally, the team released veteran linebacker La'el Collins, who played for the Mavericks since 2015. This decision has not yet been officially announced by the team.

Head coach Brian Schottenheimer acknowledged that Diggs showed significant improvement during the preparation for the season. He expressed satisfaction with the progress made, noting that without his presence, the results would not have been the same.

Diggs is expected to miss a majority of the previous season due to injury. He mentioned the severing of the previous contract in 2023, and in 2024 he will again not be able to participate in matches due to the injury.

It is still unclear whether Diggs will be able to play in the opening of the 2025 season against the Philadelphia Eagles, but his return to the team is a positive sign.

Along with Diggs, the Mavericks are looking forward to the return of other key players, which could strengthen their roster position in the season.
