German Finance Minister Supports Ukraine During Visit

The German Vice Chancellor and Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil arrived in Kyiv with an unannounced visit. He emphasized that Germany's support for Ukraine remains strong and unwavering. "Putin is not under the illusion that Germany's support can weaken," Klingbeil stated, adding that Germany remains one of the largest global sponsors of Ukraine and the largest in Europe.

Since the beginning of the war, Germany has provided Ukraine with €50.5 billion. Klingbeil called on Putin to demonstrate interest in the peace process, stating that achieving lasting peace requires a cessation of hostilities and reliable security guarantees.

He also emphasized that Ukraine must be involved in peace negotiations regarding the largest conflict in Europe in the last 80 years, which began in February 2022. The German minister noted that international cooperation actively coordinates its actions to ensure Ukraine's security after a possible establishment of peace.
