The Visma-Lease team reported a theft that occurred on the night of September 25, 2025. During the incident, 18 bicycles were stolen, valued at approximately 250,000 euros. This happened while the team was participating in the Vuelta in Spain, specifically in the third stage, which took place in Italy.
According to team representatives, “the security of our mechanics was compromised, and several bicycles were stolen.” They also noted that the mechanics are working on ensuring that the team is ready for the upcoming race. The police have opened an investigation into this matter.
Some bicycles were found in a nearby forest near the team's hotel, but the exact quantity remains unknown.
