Ukraine Broadcasts the Truth About Russia's Invasion on TV

  • Cyberpartisans broadcasted the truth about the Russian invasion on 116 channels.
  • They showed videos in Moscow and other regions for three hours.
  • This is part of a larger campaign by cyberpartisans against Russia since the beginning of the war.

This is reported by RBC Ukraine, Ukrayinska Pravda.

On the evening of September 24, on the day of Ukraine's Independence, Russian television in several regions showed videos demonstrating the real losses of the Russian armed forces in the war against Ukraine, as well as other "achievements" of Russia. Together with sources from the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, local cyberpartisans managed to "hack" the Russian provider No. 3 and simultaneously broadcast unedited footage on 116 television channels.

Cyberactivists also blocked access for the administration to the servers to prevent interruptions in the broadcast. As a result, approximately 50,000 viewers in Moscow and other regions of Russia watched for three hours in prime time, observing explosions at Russian oil refineries and fallen soldiers.

For those who do not use digital television, the broadcast was available through apps on the Apple Store, Google Play, Smart TV, and other cable networks. Such cyberpartisans provide an opportunity to show the truth about the war to Russians, which contrasts with the official propaganda of the Kremlin.

Cyberattacks on Russia

Since the beginning of the full-scale war against Ukraine, Russia has become a target for numerous cyberattacks. Hackers, international groups, and individual specialists regularly attack government websites, media, financial institutions, and the energy infrastructure of Russia, disrupting their operations or leaking confidential information. Hackers from the Ukrainian intelligence agency constantly conduct cyberattacks on Russia, including targeting the company "Gazprom Integration," one of the largest suppliers of drones for the Russian army.
