Zapad-2025 Military Exercises Planned with Participation of 30,000 Soldiers
- The Zapad-2025 exercises will take place from September 12 to 16, 2025.

According to the data from the Lithuanian military intelligence, joint military exercises of Russia and Belarus, Zapad-2025, will be held from September 12 to 16, 2025. The exercises will involve up to 30,000 military personnel, of which only 8,000 will be stationed on the territory of Belarus, including 2,000 Russian soldiers.
The head of the Second Department of Operational Services of Lithuania, Mindaugas Majauskas, stated that the likelihood of hybrid attacks on Lithuania during the exercises is minimal, although certain provocations cannot be ruled out. Possible violations of airspace and a significant risk of cyber incidents.
According to him, the likelihood that Russia may use the exercises as a pretext for actions against other countries in the region, or attempt to involve Belarus in a large-scale invasion of Ukraine, is "very low."
The Zapad-2025 exercises will include training on air defense, scenarios of offensive operations, repelling attacks, and tactical air support.
Officially, more than 13,000 military personnel are expected to participate in the exercises, but the exact number of participants has not yet been announced.
