British tennis player Jack Draper, who ranks fifth in the world, returns to the US Open with significant changes to his physical condition. After a successful appearance at last year's tournament, where he reached the semifinals, the 23-year-old athlete looks notably stronger and ready for new challenges.
Draper noted that his new look is the result of intensive training in the gym, where he focused on his physical conditioning. He remarked: "I have been working incredibly hard to improve my physical preparation on the court." His transformation became evident during matches at the Open Championship of France, where he was dubbed "the divine one" by the superlative.
Before the start of the competition in New York, Draper did not participate in any tournament since his unexpected withdrawal from Wimbledon in July. However, this period without play gave him the opportunity to focus on enhancing his endurance. He went through training that included high-intensity workouts on a vertical cardio-climber.
Today, September 25, Draper begins his campaign at the US Open, competing against Argentine tennis player Federico Agustín Gomez, who ranks 206th in the world. Draper looks forward to a deep progression in the tournament, aiming to face competition from superstars like Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.
