Apple is preparing to release its first foldable iPhone, which is expected to be introduced in 2026. According to Bloomberg, the new smartphone will have four cameras: one front-facing, one internal for selfies in unfolded mode, and two main ones on the back panel. This will allow for adapting photography to various usage scenarios.
The new iPhone will also do away with Face ID, instead integrating Touch ID into the power button. The design of the device will be "book-like": in the folded state, the user will have a 5.5-inch screen, while in unfolded mode — a large 7.8-inch display.
In addition, Apple is working on technology that will allow reducing the visibility of the screen fold, using a special metallic plastic with laser openings for distributing the load during bending. The device will not have a physical slot for a SIM card, supporting only eSIM.
Moreover, according to the information, Apple plans to introduce the iPhone 20, which will have a unique new curved design, in 2027. This device will feature curved glass, corresponding to the new design philosophy "Liquid Glass" in iOS.
