In France, a man was arrested on suspicion of murder after four bodies were discovered in the Seine River near the outskirts of Paris on September 13, 2025.
The suspect, whom the prosecution characterized as a homeless man in his twenties, was brought to court on Sunday, according to the statement from the prosecutor's office in Créteil.
All four victims, identified as individuals, had different states of decomposition. One of the bodies, a 48-year-old French citizen, was found in a "preserved state" with signs of strangulation. The other victim, a 21-year-old Algerian, also had injuries indicating strangulation.
Two other individuals, who were homeless, were Algerian and Tunisian, who often frequented this locality. They did not leave a connection with the police.
The prosecution noted that it was not possible to establish whether all four individuals were known, but all of them were associated with the area where their bodies were discovered. This place is known as a zone where homeless individuals and occasional vulnerable contacts often gather.
After reviewing video recordings from surveillance cameras and analyzing telephone data, investigators focused on a suspect who often frequented this locality. He was arrested at the moment when documents belonging to one of the victims were discovered.
The investigation continues, and the suspect is expected to respond to questions regarding the accusations against him.
