Demonstrating the work of the Ukrainian drone PROTECTOR with a range of up to 400 km

• PROTECTOR can tow a trailer with a tri-axle truck

Ukrainian military representatives have presented a new named robotic complex PROTECTOR, developed by the company "Ukroboronprom". A video of the demonstration of this complex was published by military television.

It is noted that PROTECTOR resembles a conventional vehicle, but without a steering wheel, pedals, and driver. It is controlled remotely. Built on the basis of an off-road vehicle, the complex can transport loads up to 700 kg and tow a trailer.

Project manager Anastasia Oleshchuk reported on an experiment in which PROTECTOR towed a trailer with a tri-axle truck. The complex handled this task without problems.

The load bay can accommodate three lying personnel. In the future, combat modules can be installed on the complex, for example, weapons or grenade launchers.

The new model has three types of connection and two antennas. It is noted that the left antenna is only a mock-up, but in the future it can be replaced with a working antenna to support new technologies.

The right-mounted antenna ensures a connection with the control panel. In open areas, the connection range reaches 12 km, while in urban relief - 7 km. The control panel resembles a standard vehicle interface.

PROTECTOR is equipped with a 3-liter diesel engine with a power of 190 hp, which provides a range of 400-500 km. The maximum speed of the complex is 45 km/h.

Additionally, on the drone's body, there is a red button that allows for an instant shutdown of all systems. Onboard, there are installed cameras for daytime and nighttime observation.

Production of the complex has already started, so it can be expected on the front lines.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine officially approved PROTECTOR for use in the armed forces. It was also noted that the drone is equipped with RunFlat tires, which allow it to continue moving even after being punctured.
