- Stranded Larsen became Wolverhampton's player on a permanent basis.
- Newcastle is actively looking for new forwards before the transfer window closes.
Newcastle United made a proposal of 50 million pounds sterling for forward Jorgen Stranded Larsen, but it was rejected by Wolverhampton. The club believes that the footballer is very important for the team, and there is not enough time to search for a replacement, given the upcoming matches in the Premier League.
The proposal from Newcastle was simply 50 million without additional conditions. The club hoped for positive results from negotiations, although there are currently no official negotiations between the clubs.
Stranded Larsen, 25 years old, is considered by Newcastle as a potential replacement for Callum Wilson, who left the club this summer. Meanwhile, the footballer himself is not thinking about a transfer.
After Wilson's departure to West Ham, Newcastle continues to search for a new forward, especially since there is uncertainty regarding the future of Alexander Isak. The club is also trying to sign Joane Vissu from Brentford, but negotiations are stalled.
Stranded Larsen joined Wolverhampton at the beginning of the 2024 season, starting on loan, and then signed a 4-year contract, becoming a permanent player of the club.
In the previous season, he played 34 matches in the Premier League, scoring 14 goals and providing 4 assists. Stranded Larsen's contract with Wolverhampton lasts until 2029.
This summer, Wolverhampton sold their best striker Matheus Cunha to Manchester United, as well as losing goalkeeper Nelsen Semedo and left-back Ryan Ait-Nouri.
Newcastle, in turn, has completed the signing of players such as Antony Elanga, Aaron Ramsdale, Jacob Ramsey, and Mallick Tiaw.
