Italian Volunteer Killed During Combat Operations in Ukraine

34-year-old Italian volunteer Luca Chekka, who participated in combat operations on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was killed at the front. His death was confirmed on August 25, 2025, after being considered missing since December 2024.

Luca Chekka was originally from Rome, and he was one of several Italian volunteers who have died during the war against Russia. It is beginning to be noted that his name has already become the seventh on the list of deceased Italian soldiers who fought on the side of Ukraine.

Earlier, the deaths of other Italian volunteers had been confirmed, including:

• Thomas D'Alba - a former military, killed in July 2025.
• Antonio Omar Dridi - missing since February 2025, his death confirmed in May.
• Manuel Mameli - killed in May 2025 as a result of a Russian drone attack.
• Andzhelo Costandzi - detailed information about his death is absent.
• Massimiliano Galetti - killed in November 2024 during a battle.
• Giorgio Galbi - killed in the summer of 2022 near Kharkiv.

Luca Chekka was killed in the Donetsk region, where he actively fought against the Russian aggression.
