Zelensky Discusses Joint Production of NASAMS in Ukraine

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed hope that the joint production of Norwegian systems P-P-P NASAMS will become possible in Ukraine. He noted that these systems will significantly help the Ukrainian military, especially in air defense. Zelensky mentioned this at a press conference with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre in Kyiv on August 25, 2025.

Zelensky also expects that European countries will allocate 1 billion dollars for the purchase of American armaments for Ukraine. These funds, according to him, could be used to support Ukraine's defense capabilities in the context of the war with Russia.

The president emphasized the importance of the PURL program, which allows Ukraine to create a list of priority needs in armaments, which will then be financed by partners. This will ensure quick and targeted supply of armaments to Ukraine.

Zelensky also touched on the production capabilities of drones in Ukraine and the possibilities of cooperation with partners, who can assist not only in physical defense at the front but also in the aftermath of the war with Russia.
