Discussion on Defense Cooperation in Ukraine's Procurement and Security Guarantees

On August 25, 2025, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksii Reznikov, met with the U.S. Ambassador, Kito Kellogg, in Kyiv. During the meeting, they discussed the priorities of procurement, cooperation in the defense industry, and the establishment of reliable security guarantees.

Reznikov thanked Kellogg for the support of the USA, which assists Ukraine in difficult times. He noted that Ukraine highly values the initiative "Priority Requirements of Ukraine" (PURL), which opens new opportunities for the rapid supply of American weapons and technology.

Generals Andrii Khnatov and Kyrylo Budanov provided the American delegation with a detailed analysis of the opponent's plans. Reznikov emphasized the need to increase the production of drones and weapons to stop the enemy's advancement.

They also discussed preparations for signing an agreement between the presidents of Ukraine and the USA regarding the production and sale of drones. Documents were transferred to the American side during the meeting.

Kellogg noted that work on security guarantees is ongoing and is complex. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a meeting between Ukrainian and American teams next week to discuss the prospects for future negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
