Leeds United has signed a contract with Leicester for the defender James Justin. The package includes an initial 8 million pounds sterling, which could rise to 10 million due to potential add-ons. Justin, who is 27 years old, is undergoing medical tests before the transfer.
Earlier it was reported that Justin was one of the main transfer targets for Leeds, as the team is looking to strengthen the right flank defense. Last season, Justin scored two goals and provided two assists in 36 matches, in which Leicester exited from the Premier League. He also played 169 matches for Leicester since the moment of the transfer from Luton Town in 2019.
Leeds has already signed several new defenders this summer, including left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson and center-back Jakub Biel and Sebastian Borna. Justin becomes the tenth signing of the club this summer. He signed a four-year contract.
In his career, Justin also won the FA Cup with Leicester in 2021 and hopes to help the team win the Championship in 2024. He is not expected to play in the match of the Carabao Cup against Sheffield Wednesday on Wednesday, but he may feature in the upcoming Leeds game against Newcastle on Saturday.
