Los Angeles (AP) — Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Hill, received charges in four criminal cases following his arrest on September 21. Prosecutors filed three charges against him for assault on police officers and one charge for resisting arrest.
According to information from the lawyers, the artist was arrested while he was walking down Ventura Boulevard in the Studio City area. When police approached him, he allegedly became aggressive towards them, after which he was arrested. Police suspected possible intoxication and transported him to a hospital, where he remained for several hours before being taken to jail, where he is currently being held.
The charges were announced on Monday, and the court hearing is scheduled for the same day in Van Nuys. Representatives for the artist have not yet commented on the situation.
Lil Nas X is known for his hit "Old Town Road," which became popular in 2018 and broke the record for 19 weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. His debut studio album "Montero" also received recognition and was nominated for a Grammy.
